Ongoing debates about the meanings and uses of race in medicine have given historians and other social scientists an opportunity to engage with physicians and medical scientists in an effort to enhance understanding of the complexities of race. The panelists will share what they have learned from their efforts to participate in these important and difficult discussions. The panel hopes to launch a discussion with conference attendees that will continue throughout the sessions that follow.
